Being Indians, it was our greatest moment of pride when India won the World Cup in CWC 2011. And with Nike's new slogan for the Men in Blue popping up everywhere, we just knew we had to make a "Bleed Blue" Cupcake. So we decided to go ahead and do so, which was then supplied to a new cafe in Dubai called Tea Junction, for the India Pakistan semi final. Of course when India won, the cafe sold almost all of these :) All Indians that day, were truly Bleeding Blue!
These cake pops too were made for the India Pakistan semis for a bunch of boys who were getting together to watch the match and cheer India. All pops were dipped in Milk Chocolate and had edible flags on them. The boys got back to me they had a ball with them ;) (pun intended).
Finally, these mini cuppies were made to celebrate India's victory in the finals against Sri Lanka. Oh what a match. My sister and I had the Tiranga Colors (tri colors of the Indian flag like below) painted on our cheeks and finished all our work early that day to support Team Blue! We won beautifully and the whole of Dubai became ecstatic. Celebrations were seen like never before. And in almost every office in Dubai the next day, a cake was ordered to celebrate India's win! We too were lucky enough to supply these Tiranga cupcakes to a few offices :)
This day will surely be memorable to all Indians. And for us at Sugaholic, it was a day we got to honor our country through edible art!
